How to add wireless charging to the Oppo Reno 5 Pro

Wireless charging is a convenient feature to have in a smartphone. This is because all you need to do is lay the phone on the charging mat and it starts charging, and you can quickly pick it up and go without having to deal with plugging in wires or pulling them out.

Such features have become standard on a lot of phones these days, especially flagships, but due to cost-cutting measures by some companies, some smartphone models actually do not come with the feature, such as the Oppo Reno 5.

The good news is that if you’re willing to spend a few bucks, you’ll actually be able to add wireless charging to the phone, thus enjoying the same level of convenience that other smartphone users have been enjoying all this while.

What you will need:

Wireless charging adapter

Wireless charging adapters are essentially wireless charging coils that are placed externally into an accessory. You can think of it as being similar to other adapters like the headphone jack adapter, where when you plug it into the USB-C port of the phone, it will gain wireless charging capabilities.

It might be slightly inconvenient as it takes up the USB-C port which means you’ll have to unplug it if you need to make data transfers or if you want to use wired charging, or if you want to use it with a headphone jack adapter, but otherwise it’s slim enough where you can typically fit it inside of a case.

That being said, here are some of the wireless charging adapters we found that are USB-C compatible that might be worth checking out:

Now that you’ve gotten a wireless charging adapter, you’ll need a wireless charger. If you already have one at home that’s Qi compatible, then you should be able to use it just fine, if not here are some of our recommendations.
