How to add wireless charging to the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10

Earlier this year, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 phone was released. While it clearly isn’t meant to compete with higher-end phones, it’s pretty good for its asking price and for those who are shopping on a budget, it’s more than good enough to get the job done.

Of course, with all low-end phones, companies need to make certain sacrifices and compromises to bring the cost down. For example, opting for a lower-end chipset instead of a flagship chipset is one way. Another way is to not include features like wireless charging.

If wireless charging is a must-have for you but the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 is too good to pass up on, why not have the best of both worlds? While the phone does not officially support wireless charging, you can actually buy some accessories to give it wireless charging capabilities.

What you will need:

Wireless charging adapter

Like USB adapters or headphone jack adapters, a wireless charging adapter basically takes the technology behind wireless charging and places it in an external package. This means that instead of the wireless charging coils sitting inside of the phone, it will now sit on the outside.

The upside here is that you can always replace it easily and cheaply if something goes wrong, and you can also remove it if you don’t need it. The downside is that it takes up the USB-C port on the phone so if you needed it for something else like data transfer, you’d have to remove it first.

That being said, here are some USB-C wireless charging adapters we found that should work with the phone:

Wireless charger

Now that you’ve gotten a wireless charging adapter, you’ll need a wireless charger. If you already have one at home that’s Qi compatible, then you should be able to use it just fine, if not here are some of our recommendations.

We’d like to point out that these are very generic wireless charging adapters and charging pads. Given that they’re designed to work with as many phones as possible, we shouldn’t expect super fast charging speeds. But if you’re after convenience and don’t really care too much about speed, then these accessories will be more than capable of getting the job done.
