It’s been almost three hours since Google opened pre-orders for the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro and fans are just now being able to place their orders. However, as we’ve already documented, if you weren’t met with random errors, or the online storefront just freezing out completely, then you might have been one of the lucky few.
Some folks are starting to be able to get their orders actually submitted, but are being met with absolutely insane delivery dates. Take this order that includes both the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. The Pixel 6 in “Sorta Seafoam” won’t be delivered until December 22. But the Pixel 6 Pro in Stormy Black and with 128GB of storage won’t be delivered until January of 2022.
We knew that the demand for the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro were going to be crazy, at least in our tech corner of the internet. But to see either of these devices delayed this far out, is just incredible and disappointing. Of course, you can try and go through other outlets such as Amazon, Best Buy, or your preferred carrier, but shipping dates are slipping there as well. Myself, trying to order the Pixel 6 Pro just to get one on launch day from Best Buy, and I continue to get a “Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again.” message.
It’s enormously frustrating, as we just want to be able to order the phones. Maybe if Google had planned accordingly, we wouldn’t have to be dealing with these issues, but here we are. Let us know if you managed to get your order in, and what your delivery date looks like.
