Usually when companies develop new phones, they tend to keep the newer hardware features exclusive to its higher-end flagship models. This was evidence last year and the year before where 5G was extremely limited in handsets, but that’s starting to change as we’re seeing more 5G handsets enter the market.
If you don’t plan on buying a flagship phone just for 5G access, you might be interested to learn that Samsung could be working on a new handset in the form of the Galaxy A13 5G. This is according to a report from MySmartPrice who discovered a listing on Geekbench for the upcoming phone.
In terms of specs, the Galaxy A13 5G appears to be largely unremarkable, but we suppose the selling point would be its price and the fact that it supports 5G. It will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset clocked at 2.2GHz, while there will be two other cores clocked at 2GHz for less intensive tasks.
It also appears to be packing 4GB of RAM, but MySmartPrice suggests that there could be a 6GB RAM variant as well. The phone will run Android 11 out of the box, but presumably it should at the very least see an update to Android 12 further down the road. There’s no word on pricing or availability yet but given its specs, it’s unlikely to break the bank.
