Shortly after Google announced the integration of Android 12 into AOSP, Realme followed suit with an announcement of its own. The company has announced that a version of Realme UI 3.0 will be released on October 13th, based on Android 12.
Realme was one of the company’s that jumped on the Android 12 beta train back when the latest version of Android was announced. The beta could be installed on the Realme GT, but considering how many devices are actually under the “GT” series, we’re unsure as to when those devices will receive the update.
What we also are unsure of is whether this will be the final version of Realme UI 3.0, or if it will be just the first beta release instead. Realme shared that its software is being used by more than 100 million users across the world, and the company only expects that number to grow with the next major software release.
Unfortunately, Realme has not shared exactly what the interface will look like or what changes are in store. Instead, the company only states that the “entire UI will be refreshed”, but that doesn’t really give us any indication as to what to expect.
Nevertheless, if you own the Realme GT, you’ll be able to get your hands on Android 12 within the next couple of weeks. Considering how popular Realme devices have become over the last couple of years, it’s great to see the company jump on board as quickly as it can to bring the latest version of Android to its growing userbase.
We’ll be sure to circle back once more details about the interface and UI changes are revealed.
