Withings ScanWatch Horizon Is a Hybrid Smartwatch Designed for Divers

Although we continue to see more smartwatches released with an official IP rating and improved durability, they still don’t quite match up to traditional watches. Withings is attempting to change that with the all-new Withings ScanWatch Horizon.

The ScanWatch Horizon looks and feels like a traditional diver watch, with a rotating bezel, stainless steel casing, and sapphire glass. But under the hood, Withings has packed in all of the features you expect to find on the best smartwatches. This includes a heart rate monitor, ECH, SpO2 sensor, and the ability to track things like breathing disturbances, sleep, and of course, physical activities.

Because this is a Diver watch, Withings has upped the ante a bit, as the ScanWatch Horizon sports a 10ATM water resistance rating. Withings says this is part of what makes it the “perfect accessory” for swimmers, snorkeling and water sports. Then, you can head into the Withings Health Mate app to check out all of your metrics.

If you haven’t figured it out by now, the Withings ScanWatch Horizon is a hybrid smartwatch, so it doesn’t exactly match up with the likes of the Galaxy Watch 4 or Apple Watch. Instead, this is where Withings feels it can continue making an impact, as the company is leading the way with these hybrid watches. Basically, you get all of the health-tracking benefits that a smartwatch or fitness tracker would offer, but with the look and feel of a traditional watch.

Battery life for the ScanWatch Horizon is rated for up to 30-days on a single charge, while it’s also available with either a green or blue top casing. Pricing for the ScanWatch Horizon comes in at €499.95, with this new smartwatch arriving in Germany, France, and the UK starting today. Withings says that those interested in this latest hybrid smartwatch here in the U.S. will have to wait until Q4 2021. This is due to the FDA clearance needed, but Withings expects that it should receive the necessary clearance within the next few weeks.
