Fossil Gen 6 Rose Gold

Fossil Gen 6 is now available with faster charging and a sleek design

If you have been holding off on picking up the Galaxy Watch 4, for something a bit different, you’re in luck. The Fossil Gen 6 is now available, giving you another Wear OS smartwatch option that looks a bit more professional than what you get the with the Watch 4.

As a refresher, the Gen 6 comes in two different sizes; 42mm and 44mm. The AMOLED display measures in at 1.28-inches across both models, and sports a stainless steel casing. Under the hood, we have the Snapdragon Wear 4100+ which Fossil claims will provide up to 30% faster performance. Additionally, the Gen 6 includes 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage, along with an SpO2 sensor and an updated heart rate sensor that will provide more accurate readings.

The biggest reason why you might want to consider the Fossil Gen 6 is the charging speeds. Fossil claims the Gen 6 will last up to 24-hours, but includes an “Extended Battery Mode” which will net you “multiple days” of usage. The charging speeds have been greatly improved, offering an 80% charge in just 30 minutes, which is pretty darn impressive, especially when you consider that the Galaxy Watch 4 takes about two hours to reach 100%.

Unfortunately, those hoping for another Wear OS 3 option, will have to wait a little bit longer. Fossil states that while the update will arrive on the Gen 6, it won’t be coming until sometime in 2022.

Pricing for the Fossil Gen 6 starts at $299 for the 42mm variant, and goes up to $319 if you want the larger 44mm version.
