New Galaxy S22 Ultra renders reveal incredible changes are on the horizon
Samsung Galaxy Note fans were understandably disappointed when it was confirmed the 2021 Galaxy Note line would not be arriving. Samsung attempted to quench concerns that the Note would be replaced by the Galazy Z Fold series, but there are still many that want a true Galaxy Note device.
Thanks to renders provided by @OnLeaks and Digit.in, the Galaxy Note may not be dead yet, but instead, will be reincarnated. These new renders show off the supposed Galaxy S22 Ultra, with a twist. Although Samsung has introduced S Pen support for the Galaxy S21 Ultra and Galaxy Z Fold 3, there’s no where to actually put the stylus when not in use. Sure, you could use a case, but it’s still not the same as having it stored actually in your phone.
Samsung seems to be rectifying that situation according to these new CAD renders. The phone appears to be more in line with what we would have expected from a Galaxy Note 21, with a slightly thicker and boxier design. This was done to help create the space necessary to house the S Pen, just like we’ve been accustomed to doing for years.
Looking around the rest of the phone, the renders show another redesign coming to the rear camera module. Instead of the cameras melting into the frame, the module itself stands alone again. We can see that there will be a total of four cameras, along with an LED flash packed into the back of the phone.
As for specs, there’s not too much to go off of just yet. But the Galaxy S22 Ultra is expected to sport a 6.8-inch curved AMOLED display. Camera specs aren’t known, but considering the unique camera design, indications are that Samsung will be including a periscope lens.
And according to these renders, the Galaxy S22 Ultra will feature dimensions of 163.2 x 77.9 x 8.9mm with a thickness of just 10.5mm when including the camera module. Although the S21 Ultra was already hefty, Samsung’s next flagship may take that meaning to the next level. We’re hoping that this new design will open the door for a larger battery, but we’ll have to wait and see on that front.
