Along with a trio of new smartphones that were announced this morning, Xiaomi has announced a few other devices and accessories that you might be interested in. This is headlined by the Xiaomi Pad 5, a 11-inch tablet that looks a lot like the iPad Air, but packs a powerful punch.
The Pad 5 features an 11-inch QWHD+ display equipped with a 120Hz refresh rate and Xiaomi’s “True Display” technology. There’s even a specific mode called “Sunlight Display” that allows you to use the Pad 5 even in the brightest of conditions. And at the end of the day, when it’s almost time to hit the hay, Xiaomi has integrated low blue light hardware along with blue light reduction software to help give your eyes a break.
Powering the Xiaomi Pad 5 is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 860 chipset, along with 6GB of RAM and either 128GB or 256GB of onboard storage. In terms of battery life, this tablet should last all day and then some thanks to the massive 8,720mAh cell packed into this. Xiaomi also includes a 22.5W charger in the box, which may seem a bit slow, but it’s more than enough for this tablet. Additionally, there’s a 8MP front-facing camera along with a 13MP rear-facing camera, so the Pad 5 will be more than adequate for handling video calls from wherever you are.
Since you’ll likely be using the Xiaomi Pad 5 for media consumption at some point, you’ll enjoy the quad-speaker set up offered by this tablet. In addition to providing a surround sound experience, the Pad 5 also supports Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio.
Pricing for the Pad 5 starts at EUR 349 for the 6GB/128GB version and goes up to EUR 399 if you want to double the storage.
Rounding out today’s announcement was the Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 6 NFC. This is obviously just a slightly-tweaked version of the standard Mi Band 6, but for good reason. Xiaomi has partnered with Mastercard to bring NFC payments to one of the most popular fitness trackers and wearables in the world.
This wearable features a 1.56-inch AMOLED touchscreen display, is capable of tracking up to 30 different fitness modes, along with measuring your blood oxygen (SpO2) levels and much more. Battery life is rated for at least two weeks, and the tracker is even capable of measuring how you breathe while sleeping in an effort to make sure that your sleep health is in tip-top shape.
If you want to get the new NFC version of the Mi Band 6, pricing begins at just EUR 54.9.
