Last month, the Fitbit Charge 5 made its debut, bringing with it a slew of new features for the Charge series of wearables. Alongside the announcement, Fitbit also introduced some new features that would be arriving on older Fitbit wearables such as the Versa 3 and Sense. One such announcement is the new “Daily Readiness Score” which is comprised of three different metrics: Activity level, Heart rate variability, and Sleep. Then, the scores ill let you know if you should take a break for the day or if you should take advantage and tackle the day.
Because the Sense and Versa 3 have built-in microphones, this can provide a bit more accuracy when it comes to sleep tracking. Instead of just measuring your movements throughout the night, a new feature is rolling out that allows the smartwatches to “Check for snoring” (via 9to5Google).
This new Check for Snoring feature is rolling out now to owners of the Sense and Versa 3, and can be enabled from within the Fitbit app. You’ll just need to open the app, head over to the Sleep page, and tap the Check for snoring card. There’s also a Learn More button that provides a bit more information as to why tracking your snoring is helpful when it comes to keeping tabs on your sleep.
Fitbit does warn that if you enable this feature, battery life will more than likely be affected. That’s because your Fitbit Sense or Versa 3 will be attempting to listen for snoring on a consistent basis throughout the night. Fitbit suggests that your smartwatch has at least a 40% charge on it before you hit the hay for the day.
The update is rolling out to the Fitbit app now, so it should be available pretty quickly. If you want to check for an update now, hit the link below to check out the Fitbit app listing on the Play Store.
