Infinix wants to help you capture more pictures of the moon with its Zero X phones
When the Galaxy S20 Ultra was released last year with its 100X zoom lens, it was a pretty incredible feat to be able to get a crisp picture of the moon from your smartphone. Since then, we’ve seen even more devices released with these periscope and ultra-zoom lenses, and now Infinix is here with an option of its own.
There were actually a total of three phones announced by Infinix, with the Zero X, Zero X Neo, and Zero X Pro. All three devices are equipped with a periscope lens capable of providing a 5x optical zoom and a 60x digital zoom. The Zero X and X Pro feature a 64MP “super-night” camera, while the X Neo sports the same technology, but at a lower 48MP resolution. All of these devices also feature a “Super Moon Mode”, which combines the periscope camera with Infinix’s self-developed ‘Galileo Algorithm Engine” to capture pictures of the moon.

Between the Zero X and Zero X Pro, the specs are pretty much the same across the board. The same display size, refresh rate, battery size, and fast charging speeds. However, despite both using the Helio G95, the Zero X is limited to just a single configuration, coming with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. With the Zero X Pro, you’ll also have the option to double the storage to 256GB. Another difference is in the size of the primary sensor, as the 108MP lens is reserved for the Pro, while the Zero X makes use of a 64MP main camera.
As for the Zero X Neo, this is essentially a different device in its entirety. The display is slightly larger at 6.78-inches, while the refresh rate is slowed down to just 90Hz. But the Neo also sports the largest battery of the trio with its 5,000mAh. However, that’s not without its own compromises as Infinix is limiting the fast charging speeds to just 18W. The Neo also ditches the in-display fingerprint scanner in favor of a side-mounted option for unlocking your phone.
Currently, Infinix does not have plans to release the Zero X lineup here in the U.S. Instead, the trio of devices will land in the following countries and other regions:
- Nigeria
- Thailand
- Indonesia
- Egypt
Pricing was not specifically revealed for any of these phones, but we are expecting them to be priced at around $300. That’s one heckuva deal for someone who loves snapping pictures of the sky at night and has been wanting to try and take better pictures of the moon itself.
