Pixel 3s are bricking and we don’t know why

The Google Pixel 3 was originally released in 2018. This means that it is three years old, which also means that there is a good chance there are still quite a number of users who are still using it today. Unfortunately, if you are one of those users, your phone is teetering on the brink of disaster.

This is because according to a report from ArsTechnica, there have been a growing number of user reports on Google’s IssueTracker, their support forums, and also posts on Reddit where users are claiming that their phones are bricking out of the blue.

The worst part is that it is currently unclear what could be the cause behind the bricking. If there was a known cause, users could potentially find a way to avoid it, but since no one knows, it means that your phone could essentially brick anytime and without any warning. Given that the phones are essentially out of warranty given their age, it means that Google will not be replacing them or fixing them unless you were to pay for it.

That being said, there might be some good news. Earlier this year, Google announced that they would be extending the warranty of its Pixel 4 XL phone due to battery-related issues, so it is entirely possible that if this is a problem on Google’s end, Google might also offer extended warranties for the Pixel 3 as well.

There is no guarantee that this will happen since the company hasn’t publicly said anything yet, but hopefully they will do something about it.
