Bose QC45 Lifestyle 2

Bose QuietComfort 45 land with familiar design and 24 hours of battery life

It’s been almost four years, but Bose has finally introduced an updated model to its ultra-popular QuietComfort 35 II over-ear headphones. The QuietComfort 45 has appeared on Adorama (via GSMArena), giving us a look at two different color options and revealing all of the new features.

At first glance, you’ll have a hard time separating the QC 35 II from the upcoming QC 45, but that’s a good thing. This means that unlike the Bose Headphones 700, you’ll get a foldable design for better portability while adding USB-C for charging and an additional microphone.

Bose is touting up to 24 hours of battery life on a single charge, which still falls a bit short of the Sony WH-1000XM4s and its 30 hours. And with the move to USB-C, Bose has added Quick Charge capabilities as a 15-minute top-off will provide up to three hours of additional playback time. And we still have the good ol’ 3.5mm headphone jack for those who want to plug in their headphones.

However, the QuietComfort 45’s are likely going to put some pressure on Sony with the inclusion of active noise cancellation and “Aware Mode”. The latter feature provides two different settings where you can hear what’s going on around you, and provide a response if you need to.

Thanks to the accompanying Bose Music app, you’ll be guided through the setup process from top to bottom. And once complete, you’ll be able to adjust your ANC settings, manage your Bluetooth connections, and customize the EQ.

Pricing for the Bose QuietComfort 45 headphones comes in at $329, while also being offered in both a Black and White Smoke color option. The headphones are available for pre-order starting today from Adorama. However, Bose isn’t expected to release the QC45 until later in September.
