One UI 3.1.1 comes to the Galaxy S21 lineup with faster animations and new features

0

With the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 landing in the hands of eager owners, the devices actually shipped with a version of One UI that was not available until now. Starting today, Samsung is rolling out the One UI 3.1.1 update to owners of the Galaxy S21 series. Currently, the update is arriving for T-Mobile and AT&T customers, but it is expected to land for more users in the coming days.

The update is a rather large one, weighing in at 1082.17MB, and carrying a version number of G99*WVLU4AUGQ. Included in the update, the Galaxy S21 family is being updated with the August security patch, along with offering faster animations, better stability, and Voice over Network Radio (VoNR) support for T-Mobile users.

There’s not much to be found in the official changelog, but those who have already received the update have found some additional changes. Notably, Samsung’s new “Bedtime Mode” is arriving for Galaxy S21 owners, along with a redesigned Weather app, and an “enhanced” Camera application. Hopefully, this new Weather app will get rid of those pesky ads that continue to bother device owners as Samsung has committed to ditching the ads on their latest handsets.

We’re still awaiting the arrival of this update on our unlocked Galaxy S21 Ultra, but we’ll be sure to check out these new features once they become available.
