Honor announces IMAX Enhanced partnership for Magic 3

0

Two days from now, Honor is set to show off the Honor Magic 3, but today, the company has announced a new partnership with IMAX Enhanced. In the image shared on Weibo (via GSMArena), a camera reel is being used, but it’s likely a play on the round camera module expected to be used on the Magic 3.

As for this partnership, the plan is for Honor to offer one of the world’s first IMAX Enhanced-certified smartphones in the Magic 3. With this in tow, we can expect at least an HDR display, if not a 4K display, along with DTS audio capabilities. In order to achieve this, Honor is said to be integrating a dedicated “IMAX Mode”.

In addition to the Snapdragon 888+, Honor’s Magic 3 is rumored to include at least 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Although we are expecting a couple of other configurations to be made available.

The display is said to measure in at 6.76-inches sporting a resolution of 2772 x 1344, and likely to feature a 120Hz refresh rate. Other rumored specs, include a potential 66W charger for the base model. Meanwhile, a Magic 3 Pro could be equipped with up to 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.

Moving to the camera system, there’s not much else known outside of the fact that it will offer a unique camera system. This could be headlined by a 50MP main sensor, along with a total of four other camera modules.

Honor’s Magic 3 is slated to kick off on August 12th at 7:30 AM ET. It’s going to be coming after Xiaomi’s Mi Mix 4 and Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event. Let’s hope that Honor can manage to steal away some headlines as it tries to make some headway in the market.
