Come 2022, Samsung will be launching their next flagship phone, the Samsung Galaxy S22. Not much is known about the phone for now, but thanks to SamMobile, they have managed to get their hands on what are the alleged model numbers for the upcoming handsets, and it looks like there will be three models.
According to SamMobile, the model numbers are SM-S901x, SM-S906x, and SM-S908x, which presumably are for the Galaxy S22, the Galaxy S22+, and the Galaxy S22 Ultra, assuming that Samsung will keep to the same naming scheme. It also seems that Samsung might not introduce a new variant, so for now, it will remain at three.
Also, as SamMobile points out, the model numbers suggest that all three phones will support 5G connectivity. Then again, it would actually be more surprising if they didn’t support 5G, but at least it’s confirmed.
We’re not sure what kind of changes we can expect from the phones. There is a good chance that they might be powered by a new Exynos chipset that uses an AMD GPU. Based on the benchmarks we’ve seen, this can only be a good thing. In any case, it might be too early to tell what we can expect but hopefully in the coming months, we’ll have more details to share.
