OnePlus Buds Pro coming September 1 with almost 40 hours of battery life for $150

Along with announcing the OnePlus Nord 2, the OnePlus Buds Pro has officially made its debut. These truly wireless earbuds include many of the features you would expect to find, with a few differences to set them apart from the pack.

“OnePlus has always been committed to delivering the best user experience possible with technology. We’ve challenged the smartphone industry with our premium devices, and now we are applying our Never Settle approach to portable audio with the OnePlus Buds Pro. This is our next step in creating a truly seamlessly connected experience for our users.”

Instead of going down the traditional route with Active Noise Cancellation, the OnePlus Buds Pro feature “smart adaptive noise cancellation”. On paper, this sounds similar to Google’s Adaptive Sound which automatically adjusts the EQ levels of your Pixel Buds to drown out your surroundings. But OnePlus claims that with the three built-in microphones, the Buds Pro is capable of canceling out noise levels up to 40dB.

Some of these claims are achieved due to the design that looks a bit similar to the AirPods Pro from Apple. OnePlus states that there are “noise reduction algorithms” that pair with the design in an effort to reduce wind noise from affecting voice calls.

As for the sound quality, the Bud Pro feature OnePlus Audio ID, which is described as such:

A carefully calibrated sound profile that caters to user-specific sound sensitivities.

OnePlus packed dual 11mm, dynamic drivers, in the Buds Pro, along with Dolby Atmos support. The result aims to bring “rich treble, heart-pounding bass, and crystal-clear vocals.”

With every new set of wireless earbuds, one of the primary concerns is the battery life. OnePlus states that the Buds Pro will offer up to 38 hours of battery life with the included charging case. You’ll also be able to top off your Buds Pro and get 10 hours after charging the earbuds for just 10-minutes. In true OnePlus fashion, the Buds Pro’s charging case is equipped with Warp Charge but is also compatible with third-party Qi wireless chargers.

Other features for the Buds Pro include Bluetooth 5.2 support, along with a Pro Gaming mode. This promises to provide latency “as low as 94ms”, which is great for mobile gamers looking for some new Bluetooth headphones.

The OnePlus Buds Pro is coming to the U.S. and Canada on September 1st for $149.99.
