Google says “goodbye” to the 2020 Pixel Buds

It was only a matter of time, but the 2020 Pixel Buds are no longer available from the Google Store. Expect to see any remaining stock levels at your local big box stores begin to dwindle too. Although Google has not made an “official” announcement, it’s pretty safe to assume that the only Google headphones left will be the Pixel Buds A-Series.

Google released the Pixel Buds (2nd gen) last year, after seeing the original iteration practically flop before they were even available. The original Pixel Buds had a wire going around the back, along with a weird way to adjust the earpiece to keep it secure.

The 2020 Pixel Buds solved many of our complaints with a cute egg-shaped case and a matte finish that was to-die-for. Although the Pixel Buds didn’t feature Active Noise Cancellation, they did offer Adaptive Sound. This would automatically adjust the EQ and sound levels to drown out as much noise around you as possible.

Fast forward to earlier this year, and Google dropped the Pixel Buds A-Series, which sports practically the same design. Although, some key features are missing, including wireless charging. For $99, the Pixel Buds A-Series is a perfect compliment for anyone wanting to enjoy Google Assistant access and solid battery life.
