OnePlus just can’t help itself at this point. It’s Friday, and while everyone is already thinking about the weekend, OnePlus decided now was the perfect time to give a glimpse at the design for the Nord 2. The company has already confirmed that the Nord 2 will be arriving next week, but we guess that there’s no point in holding the event other than to reveal the price.
Published to the OnePlus Nord Instagram account, an image that looks like an old-school movie poster was shared. The different characters surrounding the Nord 2 are really of no consequence, but smack-dab in the middle is a glowing phone.
Ignoring the color for a moment, the device itself looks pretty similar to that of the OnePlus 9. There are a few differences, namely the placement of the LED flash, as the OP9 was made to have room for the Hasselblad branding.
As for the color, it would make sense for OnePlus to bring back the iconic blue colorway that was introduced with the original Nord. It’s actually a color that I’d like to see make its way to more OnePlus devices.
OnePlus didn’t share anything else regarding the Nord 2, so we’re still a bit in the dark as to what the front of the phone will look like. But we are expecting a 6.43-inch AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. Powering the Nord 2 will be the MediaTek Dimensity 1200, marking the first OnePlus device to use something other than a Qualcomm chipset.
The OnePlus Nord 2 event will be held on July 22nd, where we will also be learning more about the OnePlus Buds Pro.
