Later today, Samsung will be hosting its virtual MWC 2021 event where we are expecting to see the Galaxy Watch 4 series announced powered by the new version of Wear OS. However, that may not be the only new lineup of products that Samsung could unveil, as rumors point to the Galaxy Buds 2 also being shown off during the event.
91mobiles has been on fire as of late, and they are back at it again with some official renders of the Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 headphones. According to the renders, these offer a design that falls more in line with the Galaxy Buds Pro from earlier this year, but it seems that we’ll have some new colors and a uniform finish instead of the dual-toned finish offered by other Galaxy Buds.
If you were hoping for the Galaxy Buds 2 to feature Active Noise Cancellation, you’re going to be disappointed, as Samsung is opting for Active Noise Reduction instead. This will be helped by two microphones being placed in each earbud, in order to analyze the noise around you to try and at least cut some of the ambient noise out. On the bright side, it’s possible that these will offer sensors for wear detection, which is a feature that is almost as important as ANC in and of itself.
Samsung is also planning on changing up the design of the case for the Galaxy Buds 2. It will be a more squared-off case, similar to what we have with the Galaxy Buds Pro and Galaxy Buds Live. Recent FCC listings revealed that the charging case will provide 500mAh of power, while each individual earbud will have a 60mAh battery.
Samsung’s MWC 2021 event is kicking off in just a few hours, and it will be live on YouTube, so you can follow along with any big announcements that are made.
