Last week, Lenovo announced a series of new Chromebooks and Windows laptops to kick off MWC 2021. Today, the company is keeping the good times rolling with the announcement of five new tablets.
Starting from the low-end and going up, we have the Lenovo Tab M7 (3rd gen). The Tab M7 features a 7-inch IPS display with a 1024 x 600 resolution and up to 350 nits of brightness. There are two different processors available with the MediaTek MT8166 or the MT8766. Lenovo is also including 2GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage, up to 2TB.
Battery life should be good enough, because not only is Lenovo rating this for up to 10 hours on a single-use, but it’s also running Android 11 Go Edition. This combination should make it easy to reach Lenovo’s claims for a solid portable tablet that you can just throw in a bag.
Moving up a step, the new Tab M8 sports an 8-inch IPS display with a 1280 x 800 resolution. Powering the Tab M8 is the MediaTek Helio P22T with either 2GB or 3GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage. There is one major difference between the 2GB and 3GB configurations in that the 2GB model is running Android 11 Go Edition. Meanwhile, the 3GB model will make use of the standard version of Android 11.
Despite the larger display panel, and the faster processor, Lenovo is claiming that the Tab M8 will last up to 15 hours on a single charge. We also have faster charging compared to the last generation thanks to the inclusion of USB-C.
One of the more interesting features of the last generation Lenovo Tab M-series tablets was the ability to dock them. This essentially turns these tablets into a Google Home tablet that can be undocked whenever you want to actually use it.
That’s where the Lenovo Tab M8 (3rd Gen) with Smart Charging Station comes in. Pretty much everything is the same under the hood with this version and the other Tab M8. However, instead of offering an Android Go version, this variant only uses Android 11 with up to 18 hours of battery life.
Lenovo’s new P11 Plus seems to be the company’s entry-level offering for those wanting a premium tablet experience. As the name suggests, the P11 Plus sports an 11-inch IPS LCD panel with a 60Hz refresh rate and a 2K resolution. Under the hood, the P11 Plus offers the MediaTek Helio G90T paired with either 4GB or 6GB of RAM and either 64GB or 128GB of expandable storage.
Battery life is rated for up to 15 hours on a single charge thanks to the 7,700mAh cell. Plus, you’ll be able to take advantage of 20W fast charging speeds with MediaTek Power Delivery 2.0.
Considering that Lenovo is offering this as a potential device for getting work done, the company is also releasing some new accessories to help. There’s the Lenovo Keyboard Pack which is simply a detachable keyboard, along with the new Lenovo Precision Pen 2 stylus.
When it comes to Lenovo tablets, you may automatically think of the Yoga Tab series. The Yoga Tab 11 is now here with its 11-inch LCD display, 2K resolution, and 60Hz refresh rate. This is also the first of the new models to feature an LTE option, while being powered by the MediaTek Helio G90T.
There are two configurations available, providing up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage. Battery life is rated for up to 15 hours with the 7,700mAh battery and 20W wired charging speeds.
Lenovo has also packed in a quad-speaker system tuned by JBL, along with Dolby Atmos support. We also have dual-microphones with Far-Field Voice Recognition, making this a great option for using it with video calls.
Finally, we have the crème-de-la-crème of Lenovo’s new tablet offerings with the Yoga Tab 13. The 13-inch display features a 2160 x 1350 resolution and a 60Hz refresh rate. Lenovo has also tuned this display with support for 100% sRGB and Dolby Vision, making this a perfect option for enjoying some of your favorite movies, or editing some pictures.
Looking at the power, the Yoga Tab 13 features the Snapdragon 870 chipset with 8GB of RAM and either 128GB or 256GB of onboard storage. Battery life has been bumped up to 10,000mAh, rated for up to 12 hours of use on a single charge. Just like the Yoga Tab 11, the Yoga Tab 13 has a quad-speaker system with JBL and Dolby Atmos tuning.
We also have the iconic adjustable kickstand, that can be used to prop up the Yoga 13 or even simply hang it up. This has become a staple feature across Lenovo tablets, and it’s returned for the company’s latest flagship.
As awesome as it would be to see all of these tablets released at the same time, that’s simply not the case. Here’s the pricing and availability information for all five models:
