New report gives us hope that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 will be priced reasonably

There isn’t anything wrong with Samsung’s foldable phones. Sure, there might be some issues but given that they are pretty new to the market and the technology is still in its infancy, some of the quirks can be overlooked. The main issue that most people would have would be with its price.

After all, $2,000 for a phone can be a tough pill to swallow, but that could change with the Galaxy Z Fold 3. Reports out of South Korea have revealed that for the upcoming handset (which is reported to have entered mass production), Samsung could be reducing the price of the phone to make it a bit more affordable than its predecessors.

Exactly how much is unclear, but this isn’t the first time we’ve heard about this. A previous report had claimed that the price reduction could be as much as 20%. This won’t exactly make the phone “cheap”, but if it means dropping it to around $1,500 or $1,600, that might make it more tempting for some.

That being said, at those prices we doubt that the phones will be flying off the shelves, but it could help provide the foldables market with a growth spurt that could increase demand, which in turn could help lower overall costs, but those effects probably won’t be felt for a few years.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 and the Galaxy Z Flip 3 are rumored to be launching in August. No official invites have gone out yet, but if the August dates are accurate, we should be hearing more in the coming weeks.
