Android 12 will be officially released in the coming months, but usually the phones that get it first are Google’s own Pixel handsets. As for the rest, it really depends on the manufacturer of the phone. For Samsung Galaxy S21 owners, there is some good news on the Android 12 front.
According to a tweet from Max Weinbach, he claims that Samsung has already started working on the Android 12 update for its Galaxy S21 series. It is estimated that the update should make its way to the phones by the end of the year, possibly in December, although Samsung hasn’t officially said anything yet so don’t get your hopes up just yet.
Oh yeah Samsung started development on Android 12 for the Galaxy S21 series.

As some in the Twitter comments have pointed out, June seems to be a rather early start for Samsung. Previously, it was reported that Samsung had only begun working on Android updates around September, but that’s not a bad thing to start early. An early start means Samsung will be able to push the update out earlier, or at least have more time to catch and fix bugs without their customers pestering them for updates.
What’s interesting about this tweet is that Samsung is not included in the list of handset manufacturers whose devices are eligible for the Android 12 beta. We’re not sure why that was the case, but it seems that despite being excluded there is a chance Samsung might still be able to get the update out in a timely manner, but we’ll have to wait and see.
