While smart home devices were around way before Amazon launched their Echo speakers, we have to give the company credit for helping give the industry a bit of a boost. Its Echo and Echo Dot speakers were priced affordably enough to help more people adopt smart home devices, and now they’ve branched out to other gadgets like smart displays too.
If you’re looking to save yourself some money on the company’s Echo products, the good news is that for Prime Day, it seems that Amazon will be offering a special discount to its Prime Members. There will also be discounted versions of its refurbished products where you can save as much as 50%.
The Amazon Echo Show 10 is not your typical smart display that you might have seen from others. Thanks to its built-in rotating stand, the display can swivel around which means that it can follow you and keep you in frame while you’re on a video call. It can also double as a home security device where the rotating base helps it cover a wider area.
Amazon’s answer to smart glasses is a little less ambitious compared to the efforts we’ve seen from Google in the past, but it doesn’t mean that it isn’t useful. With built-in support for Alexa, you can easily use the Echo Frames to ask Alexa to get things done for you without having to reach for your phone.
The Echo Dot is Amazon’s cheapest entry to the smart home market and with the Prime Day discount of 50% for Prime Members, you could easily snap up 2-3 of these and it still wouldn’t break the bank. If you’re thinking about getting into smart homes, this is a very affordable way to do so.
Amazon is offering other Echo products as part of Prime Day as well, so you should find something that suits you best. Some of these days are exclusive to Prime Members, but if you’re not a Prime Member, there are refurbished versions that you could check out.
These refurbished products are essentially returned products that have been cleaned up and fixed, so they almost essentially new and are still a good purchase.
