Back in May, it was reported that Samsung could be scheduling an event in August in which the Galaxy Z Fold 3, Galaxy Z Flip 3, and the Galaxy S21 FE could be launched. For the most part, it seems that the August timeframe is holding up, but it seems that no one can quite agree on when in August.
This is because there are multiple reports from various reputable sources who are pointing at different August dates. For example, leakster Max Weinbach had claimed a few days ago that the phones could be launching on the 3rd of August. That report has since been refuted by a Korean publication who claims that won’t be the date.
YouTuber Jon Prosser of FrontPageTech also made a claim of his own where he said that the phones will be launching on the 27th of August instead. This has led to a lot of confusion, although we suppose given the nature of the rumor mill, it’s kind of to be expected, which is why we suggest you never take rumors for gospel to begin with.
That being said, there is also the question about the fate of the Galaxy S21 FE. A recent report has suggested that the chip shortage could force Samsung to halt production on the handset. While Samsung did issue a statement, it was neither in confirmation or denial which has some of us worried, but hopefully we’ll have more official news soon.
