Just a few days ago, Honor confirmed that it would be holding a launch event for the Honor 50 series. Not much has been available in terms of what the phones will be capable of, but a new leak from GSMArena has revealed a bit more information ahead of the launch event.
Starting off with the specs, both of these devices will feature a triple camera array on the back with an LED flash placed in the middle. This is similar to the Huawei P50 Pro camera that was teased during’s Huawei’s HarmonyOS 2.0 launch event yesterday.
The Honor 50 will use a 50MP primary camera with an f/1.8 aperture, while being housed in the top camera cutout. Other rumors suggest that the Honor 50 will also feature a 13MP ultrawide lens and a 2x telephoto camera, but neither of those was revealed in this leak.
As for the Honor 50 Pro, the company will be packing a massive 108MP primary sensor in the top camera array. This will also sport an f/1.8 aperture, so it’s clear that Honor is going all-out for the cameras on its latest device.
Unfortunately, not much else information has been made available just yet. Previous leaks suggest that likely the Honor 50 will feature the latest Snapdragon 778G chipset, which is based on a 6nm process and is similar to that of the Snapdragon 780G. Meanwhile, we’re expecting the Honor 50 Pro, or even an unknown P50 Pro+ to be running with the Snapdragon 888 SoC.
We do know thanks to 3C certifications that both the Honor 50 will feature 66W fast charging speeds, while the Honor 50 Pro bumps that up to 100W. But we aren’t sure exactly how large the batteries are, nor do we know if there will be wireless charging available.
The Honor 50 event is slated to kick off on June 16th, so we have a little less than two weeks before learning everything there is to know about Honor’s latest devices.
