If you were to head over to the Anker website, you’ll see a lot of different products ranging from a lot of different categories. The company already makes some pretty awesome Android TV-powered projectors, and now it’s dipping its toes into the Android TV dongle race.
There are actually quite a few great options out there, but none of these really compete with the NVIDIA Shield TV (even though it’s not technically a dongle. The Anker Japan Twitter account (via 9to5Google) revealed that the Anker Nebula 4K Streaming Dongle will be coming later this year. The dongle runs Android TV 10.0 and will provide Dolby Digital Plus support while including a Google Assistant-powered voice remote.
#APC21Spring pic.twitter.com/RqEbAUyBzQ

This remote will sport all of the usual control suspects, along with a dedicated Assistant button at the top. There are also four shortcut buttons on the bottom, for YouTube, Netflix, Disney+, and surprisingly, Amazon Prime Video. The “dongle” itself is quite small and compact and seems to use microUSB for power, which is rather disappointing if we’re being honest.
Not much else was revealed about the Nebula 4K dongle just yet, other than Anker Japan stating that it would be arriving in September. We aren’t sure of how much this will cost, nor do we know if it will arrive in other markets besides Japan. But we’ll be waiting to see what’s to come with the latest Android TV streaming dongle and how it stacks up against something like the Chromecast with Google TV.
