Realme launches their “D” sub-brand for smart home devices

There are many smartphone brands out there, and some of you might have heard of Realme. For those who aren’t, Realme is a smartphone brand from China that has put out several budget-friendly phones in the past, but it seems that the company will be expanding to other products.

The company has announced the creation of a sub-brand that they’ll simply be calling “D” that will focus on smart home products. In many ways, we can’t say we’re surprised at this direction. Realme would not be the first phone maker to expand to smart home gadgets. Samsung has their own share of smart appliances, and Xiaomi is also another company that has branched rather successfully into smart home products.

Also, let’s not forget Google and their Nest lineup of smart devices like smart thermostats, smart speakers, smart displays, and more. At the moment, it is unclear what products will be part of the lineup, but the company is expected to formally announce “D” on the 25th of May, 2021. According to Realme India’s CEO Madhav Sheth:

“We are super excited as D will be finally here in just a few days and it will be the first brand in our realme TechLife ecosystem. We are confident that the brand will receive a lot of love from everyone, once they experience the different, new, versatile and exciting range of TechLife products.”
