The OnePlus 9 Pro is finally here. SPorting its Hasselblad branding on the rear camera module, high-end Sony imaging sensor for its main camera, and a new freeform lens for its ultrawide camera which practically eliminated distortion altogether, the Oneplus 9 Pro’s cameras have been getting quite a bit of hype.
We are planning a handful of camera comparisons in which we’ll be pitting the OnePlus 9 Pro against the Pixel 5, Samsung’s Galaxy S21 Ultra, and a few other devices, but today we simply wanted to give you a first look at the images and videos captured by the new phone on its own.
Overall, the photos and video do look quite impressive and the Hasselblad color tuning of the imaging sensors does look to be an improvement over what we’ve seen from OnePlus in the past. While OnePlus did talk up the main camera sensor quite a bit, we’re actually more impressed with the Sony IMX766 which is paired with a freeform lens and the dramatic reduction in image distortion for the ultra-wide camera. The improvement over last year’s ultra-wide camera is quite noticeable.
Take a look at the video and gallery below to see what the cameras on the OnePlus 9 Pro are capable of.
