Leak reveals new Samsung Galaxy A52 details

The upcoming Samsung Galaxy A52 is in the news today thanks to a new leak from China’s regulatory website, revealing more details regarding the phone’s specifications.

In addition to the previous rumors, we now know that the Samsung Galaxy A52’s display size, color options, dimensions of the phone and battery capacity.

The Samsung Galaxy A52 will feature a 6.5-inch AMOLED display and will measure 159.9 x 75.1 x 8.4mm, making it slightly larger than last year’s Galaxy S51. Since the new phone is expected to have the same size display as last year’s model, the slight increase in the device’s footprint will mainly be contributed to the larger 4,500 mAh battery.

As expected, Samsung will be retaining the 3.5mm headphone jack (a feature mid-range devices will likely maintain for a few more years) and the same in-display fingerprint sensor to unlock the phone. Color options for the Samsung Galaxy A52 will include Awesome Black, Awesome White, Awesome Violet, and Awesome Blue.

What we still don’t know

Despite the fact that the Galaxy A51 made its debut in December of 2019, we’re still missing a lot of details about the phone’s full spec sheet. Since the Galaxy A52 is expected to be a 5G smartphone, there’s a good chance that it’ll be a true successor to the Galaxy A51 5G which hit the market in April of 2020.

Based on that, the Galaxy A52 should feature 6GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, a quad-camera setup on the back, a single front-facing camera, and 15W fast charging.

Samsung’s Galaxy A52 will certainly not be as impressive as the new Galaxy S21 devices, but it should sell a lot better. At $499, the Galaxy A51 was the best-selling Android smartphone in the first half of 2020 and is still performing incredibly well thanks to its $275 discount price.

If Samsung can cash in on the success of the Galaxy A51, the upcoming A52 may be one of the hottest Android smartphones of the year.
