We’ve all accidentally deleted things that we did not intend to. If you’ve done this on Instagram, previously you’d be out of luck because the only way to get that post back would be to reupload it again. This situation can be worsened if you do not have the photo or video that you had previously uploaded, which can be annoying.
Thankfully, Instagram has finally gotten around to implementing a new feature that lets you restore photos and videos that you had recently deleted, so if this sounds like a feature you might be interested in, then read on to find out how to do it, because it’s actually super simple and takes a few seconds!
This will work on all manner of Instagram posts, including Stories, photos, videos, IGTV videos, and Reels. We should point out that users will only have a 30-day window from the time they deleted the post to the time they can restore it. This means that if the 30-day period has lapsed, then you’d be out of luck.
Also, Instagram has also made it a requirement that users will have to confirm they are the account owner before photos can be restored or permanently deleted. This way, the feature actually pulls double duty as a way for users to restore posts they deleted by accident, and also as a security measure where in the event someone hacked your account and has taken over, they won’t be able to permanently delete your posts.
It means that in the event you do manage to get your Instagram account back, you should be able to restore posts that the hacker might have deleted (assuming it’s within the 30-day window).
