With the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S21, Samsung has done the unthinkable, which is that they have finally ended S Pen exclusivity for its Note series and brought it to the S-series, but it looks like the company isn’t stopping there. In a statement obtained by SamMobile, the company has seemingly confirmed that we can expect S Pen support to make its way to more Galaxy devices in the future.
“We are committed to innovating new mobile experiences that flow seamlessly and continuously to make our consumers’ lives easier and better. We’ve made the bold decision to expand the S Pen experience to Galaxy S21 Ultra, and plan to expand the S Pen experience across additional device categories in the future.”
Samsung stops short of mentioning which devices will get S Pen support, but perhaps we could be looking at support on devices like the Galaxy Z Fold series, or maybe it could even come to mid-range phones or even budget devices. This could help make the company’s phones even more attractive as it means that even those on a budget can enjoy some of the features that the S Pen has to offer.
That being said, it should be noted that for now, the Galaxy Note is the only smartphone from Samsung that actually comes with a slot to store the stylus. The Galaxy S21 will require a separate case, so while S Pen support is welcome, it might not be as convenient as one would hope.
