Many have wondered over the years why the Samsung Galaxy S-series does not support the S Pen stylus included in the Note series. More than likely, it is because Samsung wanted to keep their offerings distinct from each other, and the S Pen was a good way of making both series unique.
It looks like that might be coming to an end because according to an FCC filing, it has been confirmed that the S Pen will indeed be supported by the Samsung Galaxy S21. Now, we still don’t know for sure if this means that the phone will only support the S Pen, or if it could come with the S Pen, similar to the Note series, but either way, it’s still exciting news for those who prefer the S-series but also wanted stylus support.
We have heard rumors of S Pen support for a while now, but this FCC filing pretty much confirms it. This comes on the heels of rumors that Samsung is apparently planning to kill off the Note series, and that they are trying to salvage some of its features by bringing it to other devices like the S-series.
Whether or not this FCC filing confirms those rumors remains to be seen, especially since there have been rumors that we could get at least one more Note handset in 2021. In any case, we should have more details in the coming weeks as Samsung is said to be planning to officially announce the Galaxy S21 lineup on the 14th of January, 2021.
