Samsung Exynos 2100 benchmarks could give Qualcomm a run for their money

Samsung typically uses two different types of chipsets for its flagship smartphones depending on the region it’s sold in. This comes in the form of Exynos chipsets made by Samsung, and Qualcomm’s chipsets. In the past couple of years, we’ve seen concerns raised by Samsung users who feel that the company’s Exynos chipsets are lagging behind.

The good news is that things will change rather dramatically in 2021 with the upcoming Galaxy S21. This is according to a tweet by leakster Ice Universe who shared what is allegedly screenshots of a Geekbench benchmark score for the Exynos 2100. Based on the scores, the Exynos 2100 managed to get 1,089 on single-core performance and 3,963 on multi-core performance.

To give you some context, Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 888, which is expected to power the bulk of flagships in 2021, scored 1,135 on single-core and 3,794 on multi-core, which means that the Exynos 2100 managed to edge it over ever-so-slightly. While not exactly trumping the Snapdragon 888 by a huge mile, these performance gains should keep customers who get the Exynos variant of the Galaxy S21 happy.

That being said, benchmarks only tell one part of the story so we’ll definitely have to check out the phone in real life to see how well it actually performs in our hands.
