Hold the phone, Samsung’s Note series might not be dead yet

According to the rumors, Samsung is apparently planning to kill off the Galaxy Note series. There have been some conflicting reports on this, where some claim that 2021 will no longer see the launch of the series, while other reports have claimed that Samsung could release one final model next year.

It’s now starting to sound like the latter rumor is gaining traction because in a report from Yonhap News, a Samsung executive has allegedly told the publication that the company is planning to release a new Galaxy Note series in 2021. Now it is unclear if this means that 2021 will see the final release of the Note series, or if the rumors of Samsung killing off the lineup were completely wrong to begin with.

That being said, we did offer our opinion that killing off the Note series makes sense. The line separating the Galaxy S-series and Note-series is starting to blur to the point where save for the S Pen, there isn’t too much differentiating both lineups from each other. As if to further hammer this point in, Samsung’s smartphone chief TM Roh recently penned a blog entry where he hinted that S Pen support could arrive for non-Note devices next year.

In any case, since Samsung hasn’t officially announced anything yet, take this with a grain of salt, but for fans of the Note series, it looks like there is still some hope left for at least one more model.
