Buy the $400 Google Home Max for $179 before it’s retired for good

0

The Google Home Max is officially being retired. Google has announced that it is no longer manufacturing the speaker and has sold the last units it had available on the Google Store.

The good news is that Best Buy is looking to offload its remaining inventory of the Google Home Max for $179. While the product is officially retired, Google has promised that Google Home Max users will continue to get updates for the foreseeable future, allowing the smart speaker to gain new features as they roll out to Google’s other Nest Audio products.

The original $400 sticker price for the Google Home Max was a bit too steep for most people, but the included dual 4.5-inch high-excursion woofers and two custom tweeters delivered an exceptional audio experience for those who wanted something significantly more powerful than the Google Home and Google Home Mini. Over time, the Google Home Max’s price dropped to $300, making it somewhat more affordable, but the new $179 sticker price is definitely the best we’ve seen since the speaker made its debut in 2017.

If you already own a Google-powered smart speaker, we highly recommend the Google Home Max if you’re looking for a more enjoyable audio experience throughout your house.
