These are the first few smartphones to use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888

0

Qualcomm recently announced its latest flagship chipset, the Snapdragon 888 (not the 875 that we had presumed it would be called). Of course, we expect that the majority of flagship phones in 2021 will most likely end up using this chipset, but for those eager to see what the chipset can offer, three companies have come forward confirming their support.

These companies are Xiaomi, Oppo, and Realme, all of whom have confirmed that their upcoming smartphones will be powered by the Snapdragon 888. For Xiaomi, this will come in the form of the Mi 11 which will come in a regular and Pro model. On Oppo’s end, the company has confirmed that its upcoming Find X3 will also be powered by the Snapdragon 888.

As for Realme, the company has revealed that they are working on a smartphone with the codename “Race” that will also be powered by the Snapdragon 888, but what’s interesting is that it could be one of the cheapest Snapdragon 888 powered smartphones. The company had previously released a $600 flagship phone powered by the Snapdragon 865, so it stands to reason there’s a chance the “Race” could be just as affordable.

The full specs of all these phones have yet to be revealed, but these are some of the first few devices that customers can look forward to if they’re looking for a new flagship smartphone in 2021.
