Leaked Poco M3 design is unique and fascinating

0

Poco is still a new brand that’s still struggling to find its design identity. While it’s quite easy to spot a Samsung or LG phone in a lineup of other devices these days, each Poco phone that’s been released seems to have no correlation with previous devices within the brand’s portfolio.

Since Poco has close ties to Xiaomi, a handful of its phones look quite similar to their Xiaomi counterparts, but a newly leaked image of the upcoming Poco M3 depicts a fascinating new design that we have yet to see from either of the brands.

Poco X3 NFC review: the budget smartphone everyone should buy

As you can see in the image below, the Poco M3 is quite unique. The Image shows the phone in three different colors, sporting a camera mobile in the top left corner on the back of the phone which is accented by a large black panel that stretches nearly the full width of the device.

Link the Poco X3 NFC, the M3 appears to feature a side-mounted fingerprint sensor embedded in the power button, right below the volume rocker on the right edge of the phone. Based on the size of the Poco M3’s bottom bezel, we can assume that the device will feature an LCD rather than an AMOLED display.

With the Poco M3 expected to be a budget device, it should feature a 3.5mm headphone jack along the bottom or top edge of the phone as well.

While the design in the image may not be for everyone, I find it to be a breath of fresh air. Based on the expected price of the phone, the back panel will most likely be plastic. It’s nice to see a manufacturer embrace that fact rather than give us a plastic-backed smartphone that’s trying to look like glass.

The yellow and blue color choices contrast nicely with the large black panel on the back of the phone, giving it a fresh and distinctive look (even though OnePlus technically beat them to the punch with their OnePlus 8T Cyberpunk 2077 limited-edition).

For official details on the Poco M3 and a closer look at the phone’s design, be sure to check in with us on November 24 when the phone makes its official debut.
