Typically if you’re experiencing some connectivity issues with your mobile service, there are several ways to go about it, such as searching for information online or making a call to your carrier’s customer support service. While those are perfectly fine ways of potentially getting a fix, Google wants to make it a bit more efficient.
In the latest version of Google Fi for Android 11, Google has updated the app where it can now help users troubleshoot some of their connection problems. This is a rather simple and straightforward process where users only need to use the app and tap on the “Start troubleshooting” button and the app will attempt to diagnose what’s wrong.
This is similar to how computers sometimes try to fix software problems by running a tool that will try to fix it on behalf of the user. The Google Fi app will then list some suggested solutions which you can then try to use to see if it resolves the issue, but if not, the app will also offer users the option of contacting Google.
The app will also be able to create a bug report which can then be uploaded to Google where they will review it and see if there’s anything that can be done on their end. Google notes that this information will only be used for troubleshooting purposes and that these bug reports will be deleted after 30 days if you’re concerned about your privacy.
