We’re seen quite a few amazing smartphone cameras so far in 2020, but things just got a whole lot more exciting this week with the Pixel 5 and OnePlus 8T making their debuts. While OnePlus has never been a market leader when it comes to smartphone photography, the company has improved dramatically from years past and the new OnepPlus 8T hopes to give consumers an incredible camera experience with four different sensors on the back of the phone which includes a monochrome sensor for capturing additional light (similar to Huawei’s setups a few years back).
Of course, Google is taking a simpler approach with a dual-camera setup n the back of its phone, but this year it’s joining in on the ultrawide camera craze which we think is a much better choice over the 2X telephoto camera they included on last year’s Pixel 4.
To give you an idea of how the cameras on these two smartphones stack up, we went out and shot dozens of photos in a variety of different lighting conditions. Take a look at the video and image gallery below to see how the Pixel 5 and OnePlus 8T compare.
