LG Wing’s UI revealed

0

While LG might not necessarily be on the same level as its Korean competitor, Samsung, the company is certainly not afraid to try new things. The company is scheduled to announce their next-gen smartphone soon, the LG Wing, but ahead of the announcement are a bunch of leaked images that show what we can expect.

For those unfamiliar, the LG Wing will be a new smartphone under LG’s Explorer Program, which is where the company will get to experiment and try out new mobile devices. The handset will feature a swiveling display that also hides a secondary screen beneath it.

This will create some interesting experiences, and as you can see in the images, LG imagines that we will be able to watch movies in full screen and reply to text messages at the same time. It can also expand on the features of apps, where one screen can be used to display a video clip, while the bottom screen can be used for other things, like a scrubber or to check for comments.

Previously leaked videos have also shown how the design can be used for navigation in the car, where apps like Google Maps can be used in full screen mode, but at the same time the secondary screen can be used to control music playback. We have to say that this is a rather clever design, but whether or not it will take remains to be seen.
