Samsung Galaxy M51 launched with the biggest battery we’ve ever seen

Ask anyone and one of the complaints that they would have about their smartphones would be battery life. Gone are the days of the feature phone where its battery would last days on end, but these days, getting more than 2 days out of a single charge is pretty rare, despite all the supposed energy efficient design changes we’re seeing.

At the end of the day, it’s hard to beat pure numbers in terms of battery life, and that’s what Samsung has done with its Galaxy M51. The handset was recently announced in Germany where its main selling point is the massive 7,000mAh battery, which is easily the biggest (or one of the biggest) batteries we’ve ever seen in a smartphone to date.

According to Samsung, this should get users more than 2 days of use on a single charge, more if you’re a conversative user. It will also support 25W fast charging that should help juice it up back to full in a short amount of time.

That being said, the rest of the handset’s specs aren’t really much to write home about. The Galaxy M51 will feature a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED FHD+ display, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 chipset that’s accompanied by 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.

We’re also looking at a quad-camera setup on the back that combines a 64MP sensor with a 12MP ultrawide camera, a 5MP macro camera, and a 5MP depth-sensing camera, while the front-facing shooter is of the 32MP variety. For now it seems to be only available in Germany where it is priced at €360 and will be available next month.
