Every year without fail, Samsung introduces two flagship handsets a year. One of which is the Galaxy S-series, and the other being the Galaxy Note series, which we can probably thank for helping kick off the “phablet” trend that led us to having phones with large displays.
Unfortunately, for fans of the Note series, prepare to say goodbye to it. This is because according to a report from Korea, Samsung might be done with the Note series for 2021, and will instead merge some of the Note features, most notably (pun intended) the S Pen. The report claims that Samsung will have three models of the Galaxy S21 next year.
One will be the base Galaxy S21 model, the Galaxy S21+, and the Galaxy S21 Ultra. The names aren’t exactly new, but what would be new is that the Ultra model is rumored to be sporting an S Pen.
Assuming the report is accurate, this would be a rather controversial decision, especially given how many fans of the Note series there are out there. At the same time, there have been rumors in the past about how Samsung might merge the S-series with the Note series, especially given that apart from the S Pen, both devices typically sport almost identical hardware.
Take this with a grain of salt for now, but if the Note series were indeed to be cancelled, how would you feel about it?
