ASUS Republic of Gamers Unveils ROG Phone 3

ASUS ROG Phone 3 is official

ASUS is no stranger when it comes to smartphones, but in a market that is highly competitive from other Chinese OEMs and also with companies like Samsung dominating, it’s hard for ASUS to make any kind of meaningful dent. The company has tried to carve out a niche for themselves with gaming smartphones, and it looks like they’re back with their latest release.

The company has officially announced the ASUS ROG Phone 3, which is their third gaming smartphone in their ROG Phone lineup. Some of the unique selling points of the ROG Phone 3 includes the use of a 6.59-inch AMOLED display that comes with a 144Hz refresh rate, a 270Hz touch sampling rate, and also 25ms touch latency.

The company has also given the cameras on the back of the phone a bit of an upgrade where instead of the dual camera setup found in its predecessor, the ROG Phone 3 will now be packing a triple camera with a 64MP Sony IMX686 sensor, along with 13MP and 5MP ultrawide and macro cameras respectively. The front of the phone will also sport a 24MP camera.

Under the hood, the ROG Phone 3 will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset that will support 5G, and will come with at least 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. We’re also looking at a 6,000mAh battery and AirTrigger touch sensors. ASUS will also be bundling a cooler attachment with the AeroActive Cooler 3 that will help keep the phone cool while you game.

The cooler attachment also features a kickstand so that you can prop up the phone while you game using a controller or if you simply want to watch videos. The ASUS ROG Phone 3 will be priced starting at EU 999.
