OnePlus finally ditches the wires with the OnePlus Buds

0

Headphones are not a new thing for OnePlus, and while taking the wraps off of the brand-new OnePlus Nord, the company also revealed its first set of truly wireless earbuds. The OnePlus Buds are finally here and ditch the wires that were still present on previous iterations of OnePlus headphones.

OnePlus Buds specifications

  • 30 Hours of battery life (between the earbuds and charging case)
  • Environmental noise cancellation
  • Bass boost
  • Low latency
  • Dolby Atmos and Dirac Audio Tuner support
  • Fast Pair
  • Customizable interactions
  • IPX4 rating
  • White, Gray, and Nord Blue

This was definitely a long time coming, as more and more options become available, especially from smartphone manufacturers like Google’s Pixel Buds and Samsung’s Galaxy Buds+. With the OnePlus Buds, you’ll get up to 30 hours of audio playback, with seven hours of that coming from the earbuds before needing to recharge. But that’s where part of the fun comes in for these, as 10-minutes of charging will provide up to TEN HOURS of battery.

In addition to the phenomenal battery life, the OnePlus Buds are also equipped with three microphones in each earbud, which are designed to reduce ambient noise. These microphones combined with Dolby Atmos and Bass Boost will provide excellent sound quality, along with making for crisp and clean phone calls.

IPX4 is here for your water and dust resistance needs, so while you won’t be able to go for a swim with the Buds, they should be just fine for a run or for hitting the gym. And we wouldn’t have a new OnePlus device if it weren’t for the customization options. Buds owners will be able to customize the double-tap and long-press features, giving you more control over how you interact with your earbuds.

The OnePlus Buds are slated to launch in the White version on July 27th, with the Gray color option coming in “early August”. Both colors will be available from the OnePlus website for just $79. That gorgeous “Nord Blue” variant will only be available in the EU and India regions.
