One of the perks of using Samsung phones is that when you switched from one Samsung phone to another, the phone’s keyboard data will sync between devices thanks to the cloud. This means that all your saved words and keyboard settings will be brought over from your previous phone, making it a relatively seamless switch.
Unfortunately for Samsung owners, a report from SamMobile has revealed that Samsung has decided to kill off that feature. It was initially thought that maybe the removal was by accident or due to a bug, a but a notice posted in the Samsung Cloud app has since confirmed that the removal of the feature was deliberate.
It is unclear why Samsung has opted to kill off the feature, since we imagine that it is a pretty handy one, not to mention it does make loyal customers feel valued for continuing to purchase and use Samsung’s products. That being said, it is not the end of the world. It basically means that users will just need to get used to the new keyboard and have it relearn all their favorite words and settings.
Alternatively, there are other keyboard apps out there that offer similar syncing, such as SwiftKey and Google’s Gboard, so those are apps that might be worth checking out in the future if you love having your phone keyboards sync up with each other.
