The OnePlus 8 will be officially announced on the 14th of April. For the most part, we already know the specs of the phone thanks to a variety of leaks and rumors, but if there is one question we have, it would be the price.
This is because over the years, OnePlus has steadily been increasing the price of its phones. The company started out as a brand known for their budget and value-for-money offerings, but with the OnePlus 7 Pro, the company was close to hitting the $700 mark. The good news (?) is that according to a report from Business Insider, the OnePlus 8 will not be crossing the $1,000 mark in the US.
This was confirmed by OnePlus CEO Pete Lau who told the publication that the OnePlus 8 will be kept below $1,000. At the same time, we can’t say we’re too reassured. After all, $999.99 is still technically below $1,000 (although we doubt it will be that expensive). Given OnePlus’ pricing history, it wouldn’t be a complete surprise if the OnePlus 8 were to be priced at maybe $600-$700, with the Pro version costing a bit more.
Either way, we should find out in the next couple of weeks so be sure to check back with us on the 14th of April for the details. In the meantime, given its rumored specs, how much would you be willing to pay for the OnePlus 8 or 8 Pro?
