One of Google Stadia’s biggest issues is a lack of titles. Many of our favorite major titles are not available on the service, meaning we have to keep our consoles and gaming PCs around rather than transitioning to streaming. But today, Stadia gets a major hit added to the library.
Doom Eternal launches today on multiple platforms, and this includes Stadia. You’re able to buy the title for $59.99 (or $89.99 for the deluxe edition) and play it at the same time as the console guys! The game starts off where Doom 2016 left off, with the same extreme demon slaying violence that people have come to love but bigger, better, and with even more weapons. There’s a bigger focus on story this time around too, which should prove very interesting.
The reviews so far have been overwhelmingly positive so this is a big hit for Stadia. The game won’t run at 4K, rather it will be upscaled to 4K from 1800p60, but that’s still a solid resolution for a game to run (especially at 60 frames per second). Rip and tear until it is done.
