This is how Samsung beat Apple

There is no doubt that one of Apple’s biggest competitors is Samsung. Based on smartphone shipments, Samsung is currently the dominating company where they are currently the largest smartphone maker in the world, beating out Apple who is in third place after losing out to Huawei.

In an upcoming book called Samsung Rising, written by Geoffrey Cain, it reveals how Samsung managed to achieve that where it seems that the company pretty much only had one goal, which was to beat Apple. The book quotes an unnamed Samsung executive who said:

“We had one objective: beat Apple. I’m not kidding you.”

It goes on to add:

“[Samsung’s] bosses had been seething at the omnipresence of celebrities holding its arch-rival Apple’s iPhones.”

It also mentions that one of the ways Samsung encouraged employees to help them reach their goal was by having trucks of apples delivered to their offices. These apples were then placed in rooms where employees would usually take their breaks, and they were then encouraged to take bites out of the apple, presumably as a symbolic way of eating up Apple’s market share.

Samsung Rising is currently set for a release on the 17th of March, and if the war between Samsung and Apple is something that you are interested in, then this is a book that could be worth checking out.
