Chrome for Android could soon let users copy images to the clipboard

Ever wanted to share an image you found on the web with your friends? One way would be to download it directly onto your phone and then send it to all your contacts, but the downside is that it could result in you having a lot of unwanted images on your phone if you forget to delete them every now and then.

The next option would be to use the share sheet which can be troublesome if you’re trying to share it across multiple apps, but the good news is that Google is working on a much more efficient way.

According to XDA Developers, several new commits to Chrome Gerrit has suggested that Google could be working on allowing Android users who use Chrome to copy images directly onto their clipboard. This means that as long as you don’t copy something else over the image, you should be able to share it by pasting it across multiple apps in several taps, as opposed to having to go through the share sheet each and every time.

At the moment, it is unclear as to how this will look like in practice as it has yet to show up in Chrome, but the fact that it is now part of Chrome Gerrit suggests that maybe we should be able to expect to see the feature in the near future.
